    According to statistics of Confederation of Chinese Metalforming Industry, there were 450 key forging enterprises in 2017. The total output of forging parts in that year was 11,527,600 tons, including 7.87 million tons of die forging parts and 5.15 million tons of automotive forging parts. The output of free forging was 3.65 million tons, including 747,000 tons of ring forging parts, taking number 1 position in the world.

    According to the criteria that mass per unit of vehicle is 1.4 tons and 19% of parts of each passenger car adopt forged parts by 2020, and adopting passenger car for statistic of the entire industry, then the scale will be 6.71 million tons. If the annual output of vehicles is assumed to be 33 million units in 2025, then at least 9.7 million tons of forged parts will be needed.
